Whilst all enquiries are welcomed, potential clients should be aware of some of the pitfalls associated with dealing in these highly specialized and desirable commodities.

• In order for any gemstone to be considered, it must be accompanied by the appropriate identifying certificate, whether that be a G.I.A. (Gemological Institute of America), A.G.S. (American Gem Society), G.C.A.L. (Gem Certification and Assurance Lab), Gubelin, or S.S.E.F. (Swiss gemological Institute) note: other laboratories may also be available and accepted.
• All gemstones should be cut, faceted, polished and be of “gem Quality” (high clarity) IntaCapital Swiss can also arrange for “Uncut Stones” to be processed, and certified upon request (this will come with additional costs, to be arranged on a case by case basis).
•  “Cabochon” stones, opaques, or gems with poor clarity, (although these may come with certification) are extremely difficult to work with, as they do not represent a true resale or investment value. Although these are collectable, and highly decorative, they are very common (even in large quantities, and sizes). Exceptions to this would be – Pearls, Opals, Jade, and other semi-transparent gemstones (please contact IntaCapital Swiss for further details).
• Do not rely on “Insurance Valuations” to be an accurate representation of the gemstones value, these are typically, grossly inflated valuations, and give the owner a false indication of any potential resale value, this is a replacement valuation. (all gems will be subject to an independent re-valuation prior to any terms being issued)
